He was born from Congolese parents and raised in Luxembourg. He started his career as a rapper in 1993 with rap duo HLM (Homme Libre Menacé). 2 years later he joins hiphop crew MQP (Maîtrise Qui Percute), a collective of graffiti artists, emcees and a dj. In 1997 he leaves the crew and joins La Nouvelle Alliance, a collective of christian rap artists in Brussels.

In 2000 he finally decides to go solo and to perform under the name Gospel Emcee. Between 2003 and 2013, he’s been constantly releasing different projects as an independant artist (2 albums, many eps, free online tapes) working with many international artists: Kev Brown, Oddisee, Dul, DJ Loskar, Kalo de 78, Malone, and peforming in diffrent countries (Germany, Belgium, France, Latvia, opening act for De La Soul).

In the summer of 2014 he finally moves to Winnipeg and decides to use the name Alpha Toshineza, a name that he’s been using since 2000 as an alter ego for his work as a producer, writer and creative director behind all his music and visual art projects.
His new album has been released in fall 2016.
